What a Great Day!

Be jealous, be very jealous! :) just kidding... Anyway, I had a perfect day today! Mike and I were both off and the girls were all home - a miracle in itself! We went school shopping in the morning and came home to have lunch. Everyone ate something different which was okay for a change. After lunch I worked on the new tags, etc you'll see in my shop, while the little girls played and Mike and Sami napped. Later Kenzie went to a birthday party; Sami went to volleyball practice and Katie and I made puppychow! Love that stuff!! We had a simple dinner of veggie chicken patties, cottage cheese, pickles and fruit smoothies. What a great day!!! I hope you all had a great day as well! Back to work and reality tomorrow.. But hey on the brightside about tomorrow - IT'S FRIDAY!! :)

Will you build me a studio? :)

Yep, that's the question I posed to my sweetie the other day. He looked at me like I was crazy and kept doing what he'd been doing. "Really, I really need one!" He's oblivious to me. So, I had to explain to him how it would be to his advantage too! He'd be able to reclaim his "mancave" (read basement) and the kitchen table, and the coffee table, and the... Whoa... I guess I'm a little spread out... Hmmmm... Yep! Definitely gonna have to keep workin on Mikee for that studio. I have the perfect spot picked out... :) But for now, I guess it's time to reorganize and reevaluate whether I really need to take over the house:) Mike has the patience of a saint, but I am getting tired of having to move everything to eat dinner, and with school starting soon, I guess the girls are gonna need a place to do homework... Ugh! I'm disorganized by nature and hate to clean, but... I'll try! :O)

Seriously??!!

My daughter, Katie, is an aspiring actress, model, rockstar... the list goes on. . I truly believe she has the talent and drive to do any of these. Of course, I am her mom, so... Anyway, she tried out for our local student theatre group's fall production. The part she tried out for has 65 lines. She practiced and practiced. The part she chose for her audition included a line of french. And let me tell you - my girl nailed it! She was great! She didn't forget any lines and stood loud and proud! I was impressed. Anyone who knows Katie, knows how difficult that was for her. Because in spite of all of her ambitions; she is a shy girl! So... anyway, my darling, fragile, sweet, beautiful girl did not get the part she tried out for. Nope! No siree... instead she gets the part of the French Ambassador. Huh. Wants 65 lines... has 2. Huh... I'm confused and mad. Now don't get me wrong, I know she's my flesh and blood and I am quite partial to her, but geesh pe...

Yes, I do claim them as mine! :)

Last night, my two youngest daughters were in a goofy mood. They found the wigs Mike and I had bought to wear last Halloween and entertained us for quite a while with their antics! I think we have the beginning of ideas for their Halloween costumes already:)

Awesome Halloween Swap!!!!

OOOH OOOH OOOH!!! I almost forgot! I have joined my first swap! Heidi at http://foxglovesfabricandfolly.blogspot.com is hosting a Halloween Swap! So get on over there and join up! Yes, I know I am using entirely too many exclamation marks, but I am really excited!!! :)

I'm giving it up!

Okay, so I am guilty of always thinking "what if"... What if something happens to one of the girls? What if something happens to Mike? Or me? Or my parents, or Mike's parents... What if I run out of money before I run out of bills? What if my dreams never come true, but my nightmares do? I'm sick of it already!!! Today I opened the blinds and looked out my bathroom window into my backyard. The sun was shining; the lawn is freshly mown; the apple tree has apples ripening on it; everyone was at that moment safe, secure, and healthy. If felt such a sense of peace. I have so many things to be grateful for and yet I waste all of this time on "what if". So, I'm giving it up! As of today, I'm going to strive to stay in the present. I'm going to be grateful for what I have and not worry about what I don't. I'm going to appreciate every moment and not worry about when it will end. Obviously there will be times when I have to think about th...

Inaugural Post!!

Hi All! Welcome to my blog. This is my first post! Woo Hoo! I'd like to say I will post often, but let's be real here. I have three active kids and one active guy to take care of. Not to mention a house, a job, other commitments, and I'd like to think, a life! So, I will post as often as I can. I will aim for three times a week. For those of you who arrived here via Etsy, YOU ROCK! I think Etsy is the best thing since sliced bread. :) If you arrived here by chance... Hello! Ok, enough already... A little about me that you won't find in my profile... I'm afraid of spiders, I ride a motorcycle, I'm trying to teach myself to sew... (stay tuned for project pics), I love chocolate, dislike waiting in lines (duh), love vintage, willing to try anything once, struggle daily to maintain balance and love, love, love my family! All righty then, enough for tonight. I'll probably post tomorrow again, see if I can get the hang of this blogging stuff ... I'll leave you...
