Faux Vacation

I love the word "faux"!

Confession: I have not gone on a run since Monday. My foot has really been hurting and I just haven't felt like pushing through. I know. I know. I am giving myself until Sunday. On Sunday, I have committed to run Chelsea's Run hosted by Katye. So Sunday I'm done with my pity party!! Woot Woot! That's why I called this post "faux vacation." Well, that and I plan on seeing a view something like this Saturday evening:

I'm hoping to go to Door County or Lake Geneva. Now, I just have to talk Mike into it ;)

A big shout out to all of you amazing running bloggers. You have made this journey of mine so much richer! There is no doubt in my mind that I will complete the Couch to 5K program (even with my little break this week). I have no doubt that I will run a 5K! I have no doubt I am and always will be a runner! Thank you all so much for your support and guidance!

p.s. You may have noticed I changed the "title/name" of my blog. I feel like everyday is a new chance to be a better me. To have a better experience. To begin again...

  1. Enjoy the vacation from running. It's not bad to take a break once in a while and then pick back up! I'm glad my bad runs inspire you - it's nice to have them serve a purpose. ;o)

  2. Enjoy the rest of your "vacation". I haven't run since Saturday, so you're doing better than me. Have fun on "Chelsea's Run", good for you for signing up!

I like the new title. :o)

  3. You are not the only one loving the word faux! I wish I could use it more often (and words like chic and passe)

It is great to have an event to look forward to as exercise motivation; I definitely have ups and downs when I want to run all the time and when I don't run for a couple weeks

  4. Good Luck! You WILL finish and it will be great!

  5. I am sorry that your foot is still bugging you. Enjoy your little break:) I have no doubt that you will be able to finish the couch to 5K can do it!

    Have a great weekend!

  6. hope youre enjoying your weekend!

  7. Hi! I hope the run went well today and your foot is feeling good! Be careful with your foot!

  8. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the new blog title... perfect and so thought-provoking. :)

It's Sunday... so did you get to see that amazing view??

P.S.~ I haven't run since Wednesday. Slacker, I know! But tomorrow, I will hit the streets! Told hubs "I know I'm going to work super-hard w/ my new training group that starts soon." He just smiled and said, "Okay, honey..." Hmmm... do you suppose he wasn't buying it? LOL

HUGS from Orlando! Just posted a silly late-night message. :)

Oh, and I love the word 'faux,' too.. ha ha

  9. Have a great time! Go rock Chelsea's run! I got your beautiful cards the other day--thanks again!

  10. i love the new name! i love to begin again...and again and again :)

  11. I like the new name, too. Hadn't seen any updates from you in a while, though. Hope you are doing okay!

Also, wanted to say thank you for the cute headband and the subsrcip to RW. Loving both of them and I think of you every time I get an issue in the mail. :) Haven't had a chance to wear my headband yet because it's been raining like crazy it's been a hat lately. The sun is coming!

  12. Hi Trish, so glad you came by and entered the give away. Hats off to you, girl. I admire a runner!! Take good care of that foot, and don't be a stranger!

  13. Hi! I am just starting training for a 5k and thought it would be smart for me to stalk, or rather, read about other people's journeys with trying this "running business" :) I appreciate just how real your blog is and it's encouraging to me! Can't wait to hear more about your journey!

  14. Oh! Your blog is so inspiring! Makes me want to run!! Happy birthday to your "babies" and thank you for entering the giveaway I had while on vacation! I will post the results today . . . Kristin xo

I have lots of dreams.  They include everything from sheep to road bikes to my dog actually listening to me...

I also LOVE to take pictures.  I mean LOVE.  Sometimes I go weeks without taking a single picture. Weird right?  Why not do something I feel that passionately about, everyday?

Here are some of my most recent pictures:

I live in Wisconsin and feel blessed that there are so many beautiful things for me to take pictures of.  When you're obsessed with barns and farm animals like I am, they're but a country road away!

I'm going to slowly try to find myself again.  For the hundredth time.  I am sorry if that is all I write about here on this blog now, but hey - blogs are journals of a sort.  They just happen to be public ;)

Yet again...

January 2014.  I'm supposed to be uber fit, an organic farmer and self employed by now.

I. Am. None. Of. Those. Things. Not even one.  For a while, I felt like a big loser, but then I realized:

Ugh.  Yep, it's all me.  I wish. A LOT.  I DO. Very little.  I have no one or no where to place the blame, but on me. I have the tools and the knowledge, I choose to ignore both and do nothing.  It all comes down to choices.

How do I start?  Where do I start?

At the beginning. AGAIN.

-So, I've joined Weight Watchers (I wonder if there is a record for how many times a single person has started and stopped Weight Watchers?  I'd probably win).

-I'm planning my garden and new chicken coop.

-I'm baking bread today (yes, I realize this may impact WW, but homemade bread!!!)

-I'm beginning to make what I can, whether it be food or beauty products.

Too much all at once?  I have no idea.  Will I fail?  I certainly hope not.

I welcome any thoughts, advice or ideas.

And if you …

Proof that I occasionally finish what I start...

New throw pillow covers I made a couple of weeks ago! Finished and started the same day :)  (Sorry the pics aren't the greatest.) I love making these.  They are super quick and easy and are an inexpensive way to change your decor.  Yes, I realize that they don't match each other and yes, they are all on the same couch.  We have a sectional and they're spread out. Besides that, I am eclectic and my home reflects that about me! I'm going to try to take pics of my quilt top tomorrow (read: bribe Mike into doing it for me).  It's been sitting folded up in a drawer since last year. :(  I need to quilt it because: A. It's my first quilt and B. I love it and can't wait to use it!! I've been throwing a lot of love out there in the quilt world the last couple of days, because I am flat out with an injured back.  So to all of you whom I've visited or will visit, thank you.  You're keeping me sane!!  Trish
