Faux Vacation

I love the word "faux"!

Confession: I have not gone on a run since Monday. My foot has really been hurting and I just haven't felt like pushing through. I know. I know. I am giving myself until Sunday. On Sunday, I have committed to run Chelsea's Run hosted by Katye. So Sunday I'm done with my pity party!! Woot Woot! That's why I called this post "faux vacation." Well, that and I plan on seeing a view something like this Saturday evening:

I'm hoping to go to Door County or Lake Geneva. Now, I just have to talk Mike into it ;)

A big shout out to all of you amazing running bloggers. You have made this journey of mine so much richer! There is no doubt in my mind that I will complete the Couch to 5K program (even with my little break this week). I have no doubt that I will run a 5K! I have no doubt I am and always will be a runner! Thank you all so much for your support and guidance!

Peace.

Trish

p.s. You may have noticed I changed the "title/name" of my blog. I feel like everyday is a new chance to be a better me. To have a better experience. To begin again...

  1. Enjoy the vacation from running. It's not bad to take a break once in a while and then pick back up! I'm glad my bad runs inspire you - it's nice to have them serve a purpose. ;o)

  2. Enjoy the rest of your "vacation". I haven't run since Saturday, so you're doing better than me. Have fun on "Chelsea's Run", good for you for signing up!

I like the new title. :o)

  3. You are not the only one loving the word faux! I wish I could use it more often (and words like chic and passe)

It is great to have an event to look forward to as exercise motivation; I definitely have ups and downs when I want to run all the time and when I don't run for a couple weeks

It's Sunday... so did you get to see that amazing view??

P.S.~ I haven't run since Wednesday. Slacker, I know! But tomorrow, I will hit the streets! Told hubs "I know I'm going to work super-hard w/ my new training group that starts soon." He just smiled and said, "Okay, honey..." Hmmm... do you suppose he wasn't buying it? LOL

HUGS from Orlando! Just posted a silly late-night message. :)

Oh, and I love the word 'faux,' too.. ha ha

  11. I like the new name, too. Hadn't seen any updates from you in a while, though. Hope you are doing okay!

Also, wanted to say thank you for the cute headband and the subsrcip to RW. Loving both of them and I think of you every time I get an issue in the mail. :) Haven't had a chance to wear my headband yet because it's been raining like crazy here...so it's been a hat lately. The sun is coming!

COMMENTS CLOSED!!! I'll be back later with a new post to share the winners :) Thanks to all who entered!! ONE WORLD-ONE HEART I'm proud to announce my One world-One heart giveaway!! This is my first year and I think it's way cool! A Whimsical Bohemian is the hostess for this amazing event and I "pirated" the follwing paragraph of info about the event from her: "The original idea behind this giveaway event was to bring bloggers together from around the world who may never ordinarily meet. It closes the gap of the blog community and enables us to interact, discover new and wonderful people, and in the process possibly win a prize or many prizes along the way. 2007 had roughly 85-90 participants and many connections were made because of it......friendships that are still going strong. We had a strong showing the first year for sure, and then in 2008 we had just about tripled that number. This is more than wanting to win something.......that is only the means..

Happy 4th! and... a Giveaway!

I hope everyone had a great holiday! The pic above is of our local fireworks, which we are lucky enough to be able to see from our house :) We had my family over today for a cookout. Steak and chicken on the grill. Yum!!! I chose the chicken. Weird right. I LOVE steak! However, I had two cupcakes yesterday that my daughter made and decorated red, white and blue for a party, so I felt like I'd indulged enough! I love cooking for people. I think I should have more parties :) I ran yesterday for the first time in a long time. I decided to try out the high school track made out of recycled tires. My hip (long story) was sore, but bearable. I started over with Week 5 of the Couch to 5K training program. Figured it was best not to rush it and injure myself again. I had enough left at the end to run the bleacher stairs for 3 minutes!! (My quads were screaming, but it felt oh so good ;) You can't really tell in the pic, but my face was sooo red! I hate that I get this red. My middle d

Self portraits, misc, and .... a GIVEAWAY!

I love this picture. It is of me. And I love it! I typically hate pictures of myself. My Bondi Band displays perfectly my love hate relationship with running; my shoulders look good; my eyes aren't showing which is super, cause they get all wonky in pictures sometimes! Love it :) Below are further attempts at pre and post run picture taking... note the lovely shade of red of my face post run... See what I mean about the wonky eyes. Weird. And yes, thank you for noticing, I do need to wear two sports bras when I run. I'd like to introduce my new love... a Garmin Forerunner 405cx. Love it! Of course I haven't used it yet. So, I love the idea of it :) Mike knew just what my heart desired for Christmas ( I may have dropped a hint or two ). My present to myself: I have an older generation 30 GB, which rocks, but it is cumbersome to run with. I've been wanting a shuffle for a while cause they are cute the perfect size to run with ;) Which brings me to the GIVEAWAY! I am in n
